A panic attack is a very unpleasant experience that afflicts many individuals. This disorder gives rise to a continuous flow of thoughts, various fears and often brings about depression. A person who undergoes panic attacks might prefer to stay at home fearing a panic attack. Those who suffer from this disorder undergo fear often without any particular reason. There are also some physical symptoms in a person who is undergoing panic attack. They are:

A feeling of dizziness
Suffocation
Trembling
Pain in the chest
Palpitation
Sweating
Breathlessness

Sometimes a person may also undergo a panic attack without any triggering element. It just seems to happen at any random time. Sometimes some people even undergo a panic attack during deep sleep. This is the reason why people suffering from panic attacks constantly live in fear not knowing when the next episode is going to happen. The duration of each panic attack might range from one minute to one hour. Sometimes looking at the symptoms of a panic attack some people think that it is a heart attack because there is a lot of similarity between the symptoms of a heart attack and that of a panic attack.

The people who suffer from panic attacks fear specific places or even situations or even people. The reason for this might be one of the previous panic attacks occurring in that place. If something like that normally happens the person would completely try to avoid that place or that particular situation again in his lifetime because the person is scared of the same thing happening again to him.

Most of the people who suffer panic attacks try to use drugs to control their anxiety problems. This can be dangerous as it might lead to addiction. And there is also the problem of withdrawal symptoms if a person uses drugs. To stop panic attacks, there are other ways.

To be precise, all you need to do in order to control the disorder and eliminate anxiety is to gain control over the thought process that goes on in your mind. When a person is undergoing panic attack the mind of that person perceives a threat and creates an illusion of danger. This makes the person live in terror. So, after realizing that the mind is creating an illusion of danger all you need to do is control your mind to stop the thoughts of threat, fear or danger. This helps you to stop panic attacks. This is not easy. The person who is suffering from panic attacks needs to work at training the mind and controlling the flow of thoughts. If a person can gain control over their thoughts then it will be much easier for the mind to see the reality of the situation instead of getting scared or perceiving imaginary dangers. This way, you can stop panic attacks completely. You need to relax and see the reality and keep the mind peaceful in order to stop panic attacks.
